We all have a birth-year number, from 1 to 9, which shows the qualities that can be developed in adult life. To calculate yours, simply take the last two digits of your birth year, keep adding them together until they form a single digit, then subtract the single digit you formed from 10, for example, for 1969: 6 plus 9 equals 15, 1 plus 5 equals 6, 6 from 10 is 4. So your birth year number is 4. (In this Chinese system, if you were born between January 1 and February 3, then work out the number from the preceding year.)
