Imli Rice (Tamarind Rice)

Ingredients

Rice

2 cups

Capsicum (chopped)

1

Imli (Tamarind)

1 tablespoon

Onion (sliced)

1

Red chilli powder

1 tablespoon

Tej patta (Cassia)

2

Whole garam masala

1 tablespoon

Ghee

2 tablespoon

Salt

1 tablespoon


Method

1.

Heat ghee in a pan and shallow fry the whole garam masala in it.

2.

Mix imli in water and keep aside. Boil rice till they are half-cooked. Keep aside.

3.

Now add capsicum and onions to the garam masala and cook for sometime.

4.

Put them in the rice along with the imli water and some fresh water.

5.

Cook this at a high flame till the water reduces to half and them cover the pan and simmer till done.
