    Besan Da Halwa

    Besan Halwa is a rich, sweet, traditional Punjabi favourite for celebrations and Puja. It’s also great for curing sore throats.

    Ingredients
    Besan 2 cups
    Ghee 1/2 Cup
    Milk 2 cups
    Sugar 2 cups
    Kishmish 2 tbsp
    Kishmish 1/4 cup
    Chopped Kaju 10 – 12
    Almonds (slivered) 12-15

     

    METHOD

    1. In a non-stick pan, roast the Besan on low heat for 10 minutes.
    2. Stir the besan and add sugar to it and stir for another 10 minutes.
    3. Pour the ghee and mix well and cook for five minutes.
    4. Add milk, mix well and cook till you get a Halwa consistency. •
    5. Add Kishmish, Kaju and almond slivers and mix well.
    6. Serve hot garnished with the almond slivers.
