    The Chhapaar Mela

    Bathinda The Chhapaar Mela of Punjab is celebrated in the village of Chhapaar in the district of Ludhiana every September. It is celebrated to propitiate the Zahir Pir, Guga. He is recognized as the Lord of the snakes. A popular dance festival called Zinda Dance is held on this occasion and people from across the country come to participate in this extravagant ceremony

    Baisakhi National Fair in Bathinda

    Baisakhi National Fair is held during the festival of Baisakhi which marks the arrival of the harvesting season. It is celebrated when the Rabi crop is ready for harvesting.This is the time when cries of “Jatta aai Baisakhi” reverberate everywhere. People sport their best attires and accessories and sing and dance to express their joy.The Punjab’s famous Bhangra and Giddha are inextricably linked with this festival.

    Bathinda Virasat Mela

    Remembering the olden days when life was not so complicated and people were more affectionate towards each other than today, the Malwa Heritage Foundation attempts to revisit all that by organizing “Virasat Mela”, a heritage festival. Upholding decades old traditions the Heritage Festival endeavours to revive the ancient folk arts, the customs and traditions at a specially built “Jaipal Gar Village” inside the Sports Stadium at Bathinda.
